'A Summer Place' provided a lovely peaceful retreat for a late summer holiday. We much enjoyed visits to Clovelly, Padstow, Port Isaac and to various beaches and cliff walks. The ideal Cornwall getaway. No 7 is well equipped and comfortable - can’t think of anything we could not find!
We recommend locally made pasties, Sunday roast at the Falcon and pizza at La Bocca - both Bude and both incredibly good value.

We had a good week at No.7 despite a couple of wet days. Bude is near by and worth a visit. We had a good day in Clovelly although the cobbles down to the village from the car park could be a challenge, I am recovering from a minor stroke, so had to take it easy and got the landrover back up to the carpark. There is a small gauge railway at Launceston which is fun.

We had a lovely week, thank you!

The accommodation is in a fantastic location on the park, literally a 2 minute walk to The King Arthur pub, which was very quiet for the summer holidays, good atmosphere and food too! It is also walking distance to Kilkhampton village, which is lovely and has everything you need. We could also walk with our children (9&7) so isn't far.

Bude is a 10min drive and is a lovely town. We had lots of meals at Rosie's Kitchen, which is delicious and a beautiful setting looking out to sea. One day when the weather wasn't looking promising we headed to Trethorne Leisure Park which was good day out for the children and I would recommend.

We had a lovely stay, thank you Jane and Kevin!

Yet again another visit to 7 the drive. As always never disappointed with the accommodation as it’s always clean and tidy. Not that we spend much time in it as we are always out and about.

We had a light go out in the bathroom which was fixed very very quickly. Jane and Kevin are always at the end of the phone if needed.

Already booked up again twice for 2024.

No 7. The Drive was the perfect place for our short family get away. It was pristine upon arrival and was such an easy place to settle into. Due to the ideal location of the site, we were able to see beautiful sunsets from three different spots on three different evenings, and during the day we were always busy exploring the local time and spending time on the lovely, bustling beaches nearby. I can not recommend The Drive enough if you are looking for a relaxing, scenic break in a vibrant coastal hotspot!

Lovely stay at Kilkhampton, short drive to all local beaches.

Sandymouth, Summerleaze, Bude are all worth a visit. Bude is about 15 minute drive and easily accessible to both other beaches at low tide. Recommend visiting the sea pool at Bude at high tide the waves crash over and the kids just love it. The Little Pig breakfast venue is lovely and a short drive away.

You will need to have a car for most local parts but most places so easily accessible with car. (Don’t rely on taxis as very few and far between!)

Would visit again as we absolutely loved Bude.

Just spent a 5 night stay in the beautiful Bude, staying at ‘A Summer Place’, 7 The Drive.
It was absolutely delightful, lovely and clean, perfectly set out with everything you would need. Great spot, close to bars and restaurants. Also within travelling distance to Looe and Plymouth, which is where I visited too.
Thank you Jane. I would highly recommend.

The bungalow was clean and tidy and in an excellent location. The owners were very quick to respond to queries and were helpful from the booking process. Great access to local beaches and amenities.

We probably enjoyed Sandymouth beach the most due to the location, tide and lovely little café. Although our daughter loved the dancing at King Arthur's during the evenings :-)

Thank you for letting us book with you and hope to be again soon.

We enjoyed our time in your chalet. Very impressed how clean it was and bright airy. Very central for that area. My favourite place was Port Isaac, beautiful.
Hopefully be back next year.

We enjoyed staying at this property and especially enjoyed our visit to Rocky Valley (between Boscastle and Tintagel) - a hidden gem! Many thanks, Jane and Kevin.

This has been our second visit to this property. Yet again it has been a fantastic stay. It has had a bit of a facelift from last year. The weather was good but would have loved more sunshine though, but it is Cornwall though. Even though we had a wasp problem in the property Kevin and Jane sorted it out very quickly for us.
If you like body boarding Bude is great for that unless you want to travel further afield like Newquay. For the kids then go to the Milky Way Adventure.
King Arthur’s venue is great in the evening for all family types, from young to old plenty to do for all.

Enjoyed a lovely week in this real home-from-home. The setting is great as there is plenty of stuff for families on site but also a large enough site that you feel private and peaceful if that’s your preference. Lovely evening on the nearby Sandymouth beach enjoying a fish and chip supper from shop just a short walk from the chalet. We were also a short drive to Bude with its lovely quirky shops. We also had a drive out to Padstow, Tintagel and Boscastle which were all lovely and very different to each other. Also plenty of lovely beaches. If you like walking there is lots of choice. We spent one day on a circular walk around the Weir pub, just a few minutes drive away, then after a lovely breakfast we headed off on another circular walk to Bude and back to The Weir for lunch. I can definitely recommend Penstowe Manor and Jane has made sure that 7 The Drive is a really homely and comfortable place for a great holiday base.

We had a lovely week in this area of England which was new for us. We tried a different beach every day, our favourites were Duckpool beach and Tanglers beach. We were so lucky with the weather!
We are now heading to Dorset and will end our holidays with 2 days London.
Thank you!
Bye Eefje and family

A big thank you to Jane for coming to our rescue at short notice when we had trouble with our motorhome. A lovely peaceful setting near to Bude. Accommodation spotless with everything we needed. Very cosy in a lovely park. Great dog walking. Couldn't have asked for more.
Didn't have too much time to look around but liked what we saw. Would definitely recommend

We enjoyed a really lovely stay at The Drive and found the bungalow clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and had everything we needed. Communication with Jane was also great. The site was very quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed taking our dog for walks every evening around the site and into the village of Kilkhampton. We were very lucky with the weather and had a week of sunshine. Very well situated for both Cornwall and Devon. We visited places like Port Isaac, Boscastle and Tintagel in Cornwall and Westwood Ho! & Bideford in Devon. We also went to The Milky Way which was only a short drive away and dog friendly too. Bude is also very close and we visited several times an also hired a pedalo! It was a busy but very enjoyable week! We will definitely recommend the bungalow to our friends and family and we shall certainly return in the future!

PERFECT FOR FAMILY BREAK 5/5! Really lovely chalet on lovely site. Everything you could need was available in the property. We had a few rainy days and the hamper of games was much appreciated. My teenage boys who usually have their heads buried in technology played many games of chess together. Kilkhampton is a lovely little village. We had pizza from Ape Pizza which was lovely and also ate in the London Inn where they were very friendly (it’s also lovely and warm in there). Great communication from Jane also.

The holiday was lovely we had plenty of sunshine. I would suggest doing the Segway which is only 5 minutes away from the bungalow. If the other guests have kids then the Milky Way is a must.

7 The Drive was a lovery place to stay with everything that you would need from home to home. It is a central point for most beaches and the town of Bude.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in both 7 The Drive and 3 The Manor. The chalets were well equipped, comfortable and the perfect location as a base for a family holiday. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond to any queries. We are regular visitors to this area and wouldn’t hesitate to stay in either chalet again. As well as enjoying all the local beaches and Dartmoor we had a bit of a mini golf fest, playing crazy golf at Bossiney Haven and Bude, pitch and putt at Crooklets and putting in Bude. Our favourite pub is the Coach and Horses at Buckland Brewer - you cannot beat their Sunday Carvery. Thank you!

We really enjoyed ourselves thank you. The property is absolutely brilliant, clean, cosy and everything you need. The site was really clean and lovely surroundings. Was a shame the pool wasn't open to paying customers but that was understandable considering the COVID situation. The Manor is a very nice place with friendly staff and a good night out. Bude is a lovely place with lovely beaches, other areas nearby are also lovely. We had a lovely day out in Newquay as well. Was great to get away with my girls and a special treat for our dog as most places aren't pet friendly. Many thanks again, we had a lovely time
